Geolithological map

Aim of the method/technique The geolithological map is used to understand the vegetation distribution and assess the resistance to erosion.
Scale – spatial and temporal Vectorial map, scale 1:50.000. Study area level.
Raster format ; grid 20 m²
Brief description The geolithological map categories are aggregated depending on the information that  is to be taken from the thematic map.
The geolithological categories are aggregated in three groups related to the vegetation characteristics; basic materials, acid materials, and quaternary materials (moraines, alubions and colubions). These materials differ in their resistance to erosion. Therefore, another aggregation is according to their resistance to the erosion: low, medium, high and very high erosion resistance.
The map is converted in raster format (grid 20 m²) in order to enter this information in a GIS environment.
Data requirements Geolithological map
Main applications in grazing land regions To characterize SESs. To be used as explanatory variables to assess the relationship between SES components
