Digital elevation model

Aim of the method/technique Digital Elevation Model is used for the description of the altitude, aspect and slope.
Scale – spatial and temporal Topographic information is obtained from a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with 20-m resolution for the study area.
Brief description Derived variables obtained from the DEM are: altitude, aspect and slope. The 3 maps are reclassified into discrete classes.
Geomorphology is described distinguishing different landforms in each study area according to the regional slope, altitude criteria (Engelen and Wen, 1995).
Data requirements Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with 20-m resolution.

Main applications in grazing land regions Describe the geomorphological characteristics of a SES.
To be used as explanatory variable to assess the relationship between SES components .
